Last Night at Lagganlia

On the last night at Lagganlia we had a review of the week. Each group created a short presentation about their week, this caused much hilarity and was great fun.

                       Mr Wormald's  are group reflecting on their day, sitting at the table in the Hillend lodge. Everyone has a journal to fill in each day about the activities they've done and how they felt. 

The children holding the line at the climbing tree. The tree was actually much higher than you can see in the picture. Some children also took up the challenge to climb the tree blindfolded! They were amazing and listened to their team mates instructions and help. 

Unfortunately we couldn't get any photos of the gorge walking- it was too wet! All the groups have tried it and it seems to be a favourite. 

Thursday 22nd May

Taking a chance to update the blog, this is the first time we've had any wifi for the last 24 hours since I last posted.
Weather hasn't been as nice today but the instructors have planned activities to suit. Mrs Peace's group were on the dry ski slope this morning and went mountain biking this afternoon. Mr Wormald's group went mountain biking in the morning and then kayaking in the Lagganlia pond in the afternoon. Mrs Reid's group were gorge walking in the morning and tree climbing in the afternoon before toasting marshmallows in the barbecue hut and playing kick rounders.
Everyone has had a varied week of activities, sometimes pushing them out of their comfort zone and providing challenges and many opportunities for success. The children have worked well in their activity groups and supported each other really well. We are really proud of them.
We leave tomorrow at eight o' clock so have lots of packing up and checking of rooms to do before then!

21.05.14

This morning we awoke with the noise of heavy rain, however this dried up nicely and we have had a good weather for the rest of the day.
Mrs Peace's group went on the 'Mountain Adventure' today as did Mrs Reid's group. We climbed to the summit of the neighbouring hill to Lagganlia and enjoyed the beautiful nature and scenery as we went. The children worked hard to get to the top and felt proud of their achievement. Mr Wormald's group went on an expedition bouldering. They are still out on activity time as I write the blog. Other groups are getting to use the small gift shop and have a break in the grounds.

These are photos from Mrs Reid's group, it has been difficult to connect the other teachers' cameras to the laptop. Maybe some more luck tomorrow. Goodnight from Lagganlia from twenty-two happy kids and three very tired, sore (after the mountain biking) but satisfied teachers! 

Tuesday 20th May

Both lodges awoke bright and early today to some glorious weather. Everyone was well behaved overnight and ate a hearty breakfast of cereal, toast and sausages in a roll!
Group 1 went with Mr Wormald to canoe on the beautiful Loch Morlich and had a fabulous time. Mrs Peace's group were gorge walking in the morning and in the afternoon they climbed a huge tree in the grounds and abseiled down. Mrs Reid's group started with archery in the morning and then went mountain biking in the afternoon. We have seen very good behaviour and group work today with a 'can do' attitude. Well done everyone.

We are here safely after a good days travel. We have explored the area around our lodges and had a long walk through the woods tonight. That was after our al fresco tea of spaghetti bolognaise and raspberry cheesecake. In the lodges having supper and bed time now. Photos will follow tomorrow.
